MINDOL seals deal with Abu Dhabi´s fund

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- Abu Dhabi Dubai STOB Series 22 Investment Limited Partnership (AbuDhabi22) and MINDOL Holdings Limited (MINDOL) have agreed for the former to get 33 per cent of cryptocurrency MINDOL (MIN) which MINDOL issued by Tender Offer (TOB).
Both companies chose TOB as strategic approach to make a purchase at a stable price as the acquisition price planned by AbuDhabi22 would be expected to significantly exceed with purchases via regular exchanges.
A statement said that currently, the TOB Stage 1 has finished, while TOB is being implemented at the purchase price of TOB Stage 2.
The statement added that as a management vision of 2019, MINDOL has targeted a market capitalisation of within 20th place while cryptocurrencies of more than 2000 stocks are listed.
The company also set ‘Fusion of subculture and block chain’ as main business, and to develop an online game with a development budget of US$150 million (US$1=RM4.14).

Strong battles are expected to occur, as there is an opportunity for the winner to get MIN from the loser. In addition, the company is also planning to develop MINDOL exclusive wallet that can be used on smart phones, and use it for existing projects such as influencer vote and online game to be developed in the future.
There is also participation in movies, including Japanese anime, as a new media strategy. It plans to sponsor a Hollywood movie ‘TO DO & DIE’, scheduled to be cranked in 2019 and released worldwide in 2020.
A ‘MINDOL × TO DO & DIE World Audition 2019’ will be carried out from 2019, and selected performers from the audition are planning to shoot in Japan. More details on http://mindol.net.

New software assists in digitising documents

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) --  Concord Technologies has launched NEXTSTEP, an AI-driven, cloud-based platform optimised for healthcare providers to simplify patient data capture and document workflows.
The new platform will reduce the effort required to capture, access and integrate patient health information from paper and digital documents.
The company, in a statement, said NEXSTEP’s platform is cloud-native, software-as-a-service, so it dramatically lowers the barriers to implementation and expansion.
Concord has optimised NEXTSTEP for healthcare providers struggling to digitise document-intensive clinical workflows, though its core features apply across all highly-regulated industries.
According to the statement, there are no upfront software or hardware costs and customers will always have the latest version of the software.
It is also built on scalable cloud architecture, so users can scale up and down to manage spikes in processing volume without having to purchase additional servers.
Unlike conventional systems, NEXTSTEP is pre-trained to identify, classify and extract specific, field-level data, so it saves providers the cost and effort to “teach” the system what to look for.
It also extends automated document classification and routing with the ability to coordinate document handling even with frequently-changing clinical processes.
“We estimate a sizeable market of providers who are being underserved by conventional document capture and automation solutions, due to the up-front costs of implementation and the ongoing resources to own them,” said John Harrison, Concord Technologies’ senior vice-president, sales & marketing.
The company is a leading provider of cloud fax services and document process automation solutions. More details at www.concord.net

TRAVEL INDUSTRY WILL RECORD 2.4 BILLION INTERNATIONAL TRIPS BY 2030

LONDON, Sept 27 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Market research company Euromonitor International released today new data on the future of the travel industry.

New research shows the travel industry is set to record strong growth with international arrivals reaching 2.4 billion by 2030, corresponding to USD 2.6 billion in incoming receipts. China, France and the US will be the main beneficiaries of international arrivals.

Nadejda Popova, travel industry manager at Euromonitor International comments, “Rising incomes and middle classes lead to growing confidence among consumers globally. Young and urban consumers are seeking out new travel experiences, driving travel and tourism trends along with more targeted services and products than ever.”

Euromonitor International’s new research shows that:
  • Global arrivals will grow by 5 percent between 2017 and 2018 to reach 1.4 billion trips, thanks to an upgraded economic outlook for major economies such as the US, Japan and the Eurozone.
  • Low-cost carriers are expected to show a passenger growth rate of 6 percent in 2018-2023, thus outperforming the scheduled operators.
  • By 2023, travel intermediaries are forecast to exceed USD 2 trillion stimulated by digital advances and the shift to mobile sales representing 70 percent of travel agents’ sales in 2017.

“Over the years, the ever-evolving and very dynamic travel industry has witnessed several disruptors shaking the status quo, making it hard to even picture the way it used to be. The sharing economy and digitalisation are bringing new business models with consumers becoming more sophisticated and demanding,” states Popova. “Providing a seamless travel experience is critical for competitive advantage, from the inspiration stage, through search and booking to in-destination services. Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data and cloud computing all help power the drive for personalised and frictionless travel experiences,” she concludes.

Euromonitor International’s analysts will introduce the ‘Megatrends Shaping the Future of Travel’ report at the World Travel Market (WTM) London on November 6, 2018.

TOSHIBA RELEASES DC BRUSHED MOTOR DRIVER IC WITH CURRENT LIMITER DETECTION

- Current limiter signal enables feedback control

TOKYO, Sept 26 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) today launches an integrated dual H-bridge DC brushed motor driver IC that includes an output current limiter function rated at 50V / 3.0A. The new TB67H401FTG device can handle applications where monitoring and feedback of the motor state is necessary, including office equipment, ATMs, home appliances, robotic cleaners and more—all devices that have grown in popularity in recent years and that often incorporate DC brushed motors.

Until now, safe control of DC brushed motors has been accomplished by limiting the upper value of the motor current through a constant current limit. Over current is generated by the motor lock and is read from an external resistor through external circuitry, operational amplifiers and comparators, which increases the component count and circuit complexity.

The highly integrated TB67H401FTG is fabricated with Toshiba’s BiCD process and has an inbuilt flag output circuit, which monitors the current state and indicates when it has reached the upper threshold. This ends the need for external circuitry and delivers smaller, more efficient motor solutions with reduced BOM costs.

The TB67H401FTG supports a total of four drive modes; forward (CW), reverse (CCW), brake (short brake) and stop (off). It also includes a mode switching function that extends the application range. Single-bridge mode supports a single channel current of up to 6.0A, while dual-bridge mode allows use of two motors, with a single IC driving up to 3.0A per motor.

The low on-resistance MOSFETs incorporated into the H-bridge (High side + Low side =0.49Ω typ.) ensure low losses and efficient operation. An internal regulator allows the device to be driven from a single 5V supply.

The tiny device is housed in a 7mm x 7mm x 0.9mm QFN48 package, which also includes thermal shutdown detection, over current protection and under voltage lockout. A general error detection signal enhances system safety by providing a warning to the main system controller.

TB67H401FTG is now in mass production.

A.M. BEST WITHDRAWS CREDIT RATINGS OF ECICS LIMITED

SINGAPORE, Sept 24 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- A.M. Best has affirmed the Financial Strength Rating (FSR) of B++ (Good) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating (Long-Term ICR) of “bbb+” of ECICS Limited (ECICS) (Singapore). The outlook of the Long-Term ICR has been revised to negative from stable, while the FSR outlook remains stable. Concurrently, A.M. Best has withdrawn the ratings of ECICS, as the company has requested to no longer participate in A.M. Best’s interactive rating process.

The ratings reflect ECICS’ balance sheet strength, which A.M. Best categorizes as strong, as well as the company’s marginal operating performance, neutral business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management.

The Long-Term ICR outlook revision to negative reflects A.M. Best’s concern with the heightened execution risk related to the ECICS’ plan to return to profitability by rebalancing its portfolio amid difficult market conditions.

The rating affirmations acknowledge ECICS’ solid risk-adjusted capitalization, supported by low underwriting leverages and good asset quality albeit declining in recent years. These positive rating factors are offset partially by ECICS’ operating performance, which compares unfavorably with peers, as the company seeks growth in new lines of business in a challenging operating landscape.

Ratings are communicated to rated entities prior to publication. Unless stated otherwise, the ratings were not amended subsequent to that communication.

This press release relates to Credit Ratings that have been published on A.M. Best’s website. For all rating information relating to the release and pertinent disclosures, including details of the office responsible for issuing each of the individual ratings referenced in this release, please see A.M.
