Sports, technology fuel Guangxi sports industry's high-quality development


 KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 -- The China-ASEAN Sports Tourism Carnival High-quality Development Conference was recently held in Fangchenggang of Guangxi, themed ‘encouraging the quality growth of the sports industry and fostering a new development pattern’.

Following activities such as ‘Winter Tour in Guangxi’ and ‘Green Ecological Sports in Guangxi’, more than 40 major sports events above the city level will be held in the region.

According to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Sports Bureau in a statement, these events are mainly oriented to the general public, including marathon, basketball, table-tennis, and football, to meet the diverse fitness needs of the public.

At the conference, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Sports Bureau signed strategic cooperation agreements with Fangchenggang Municipal Government, Beijing Liandong Investment (Group) Co Ltd and KAILAS Group.

They will work closely to construct a healthy sports industry park, integrate sports and education, and enhance sports events operation, while striving to build a ‘new high land’ for the development of the sports industry.

At the opening ceremony, smart health equipment such as badminton robots, AR bicycles, and AR indoor rowers garnered great fanfare in the exhibition hall.

Among them, AR bicycles feature real-time online management of user's riding data, and users can team up for training or online competitions via the built-in cycling game, which is an entertaining training exercise.

CITI MALAYSIA SWEEPS SIX AWARDS AT THE CCAM 2020 NATIONAL AWARDS

 A first for Best In-Bound Contact Center 


KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 (Bernama) --  Citi Malaysia recently won six awards, including Gold for Best In-Bound Contact Center and Best Digital Innovation Award, at the CCAM (Contact Center Association of Malaysia) 2020 National Awards. The Best In-Bound Contact Center award is a first for Citi Malaysia.

QuantuMDx’s investment to mass manufacture diagnostic device, disposable test cassette

 KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 -- QuantuMDx Group Limited, a UK-based life sciences company is investing over £11 million to scale up production to mass manufacture its flagship diagnostic device, Q-POC™ and disposable test cassette. (£1 = RM 5.469)

QuantuMDx accelerated development, scale-up and manufacture of Q-POC™ - its rapid point-of-care testing system - earlier this year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Q-POC™ is a portable, PCR device offering rapid, sample-to-answer, molecular diagnostic testing at the point of care, with results in approximately 30 minutes.

The Q-POC™ system comprises a sample collection kit, single-use test cassette and analyser, according to a statement.

The company’s first commercial assay for Q-POC™ will detect SARS-CoV-2, the virus causing COVID-19, and Flu A & B, providing a powerful rapid PCR diagnostics and surveillance tool for clinicians and public health officials.

Rapid scale-up manufacturing of QuantuMDx’s SARS CoV-2 Flu A/B disposable test cassettes is currently taking place.

QuantuMDx has worked with development partner, RD Support from concept, through design and optimisation, to pilot manufacture in Denmark and design transfer to Singapore-based high volume manufacturer, Univac.

QuantuMDx expects to achieve CE-IVD marking for its Q-POC™ system in early 2021, following a release for research use only.
