Legendary Entertainment’s Dune Saga Returns Again to Abu Dhabi as Principal Shooting Location

 

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Aug 27 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Abu Dhabi will again return as a principal shooting location for the next chapter in Denis Villeneuve’s cinematic adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic science fiction saga Dune.  

Legendary Entertainment confirmed today that production on the highly anticipated third installment will return to Abu Dhabi’s picturesque Liwa desert with its cinematic towering sand dunes and golden expansive horizon to once again capture the essence of the mythical planet of Arrakis.  The film will continue the sweeping saga of Paul Atreides and the complex legacy of this empirical rule.  

Filming in the desert city will begin later this year with Creative Media Authority Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Film Commission providing essential logistical support, and Image Nation serving as production partner. 

The film, a continuation of the Academy Award®-winning franchise from Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures, will benefit from the cashback rebate offered by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission.

A Life Rewritten: KFSHRC Treats Rare Disease After 22 Years of Specialized Care


RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Aug 25 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In a rare example of a lifelong bond between a patient and a healthcare institution, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Riyadh has continued to support a patient since infancy, providing 22 years of continuous care for a rare genetic blood clotting disorder, ultimately culminating in a liver transplant—the first of its kind globally for this particular condition.

When the early signs of illness appeared during the patient’s first months of life, KFSHRC teams raced against time to stabilize her condition. Public and Private Sectors Unite to Enhance Vision Care Access for Patients in Need Ahead of SG60

 


SINGAPORE, Aug 8 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In a move that reflects Singapore’s commitment to inclusive healthcare and smarter service delivery, the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) and OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation have come together to support the delivery of eyeglasses for patients in need at the SNEC Low Vision Clinic, just in time for SG60.

Under this collaboration, eligible SNEC patients with low vision can collect their prescribed eyewear directly from the Spectacle Hut store at SingHealth Campus, making the journey from prescription to pick-up simpler and more accessible. By integrating dispensing support into the vision care pathway, the partnership helps close critical gaps in the delivery of specialised eyewear for those who need it most.

To support the initiative, the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation has contributed 600 pairs of eyeglasses - including 400 pairs of high-plus reading glasses and 200 pairs of ophthalmic frames for prescription glasses to expand availability and offer patients a wider range of options. High-plus reading glasses provide enhanced magnification for low vision patients, enabling them to perform daily activities such as reading and other near tasks more comfortably and independently.
