Haikou paints quaint picture of Ducktail Creek Waterfront Corridor

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- Haikou city in China’s Hainan recently opened the Ducktail Creek Waterfront Corridor, allowing citizens to enjoy high-quality waterfront public leisure space with clean water and beautiful landscape.
The Ducktail Creek ecosystem construction project was launched last April to upgrade the landscape, including restoring the ecological corridor, activating waterfront space and constructing a biological habitat.
In a statement, the Haikou Municipal People’s Government said currently, Lot 1 of the project had been completed and officially opened.
Haikou has changed dramatically after the urban renovation, ecological restoration and success in five aspects, namely purifying, greening, colouring, brightening and beautifying.
The restoration of Ducktail Creek wetland ecosystem not only enhanced the appearance of the entire city, but also provided a good place for citizens to enjoy leisure and recreation.
