KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 (Bernama) -- American nanotechnology scientist, Prof Jackie Ying has invented a lasting coat of anti-bacterial protection called Rozinco to a broad variety of touch surfaces.
Rozinco is researched, developed, manufactured and delivered by Astral Nanotec Pte Ltd, based in Singapore.
The patented nanotech-based additive, Rozinco, kills all types of bacteria, as well as fungus, is non-toxic to humans and animals, does not cause skin irritation, sensitivity or activate allergies, and eliminates odours.
Aside from its obvious application in hospitals, Rozinco can be bonded with textiles in the fashion & modeling industry; hotel bed pillows, linens, bath towels used in the hospitality line; exercise equipment, yoga mats, gym balls; and pet care products.
Ying said the market size of urban consumers, pet lovers and parents would be estimated at US$160 billion next year, and the company aimed to capture a US$500 million market share over the next five years. (US$1=RM4.11)
“We are looking to form new strategic partnerships across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, to achieve our next milestone.”
Astral Nanotec has trademarked the product Rozinco, a licensed and patented super zinc oxide composite which can kill all bacteria and odour emissions upon contact.
The technology is licensed by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research of Singapore (A*Star) and protected by a worldwide patent PCT/SG2017/050463.
