Ministry staff get cosy corner to brainstorm in

KUALA LUMPUR: As all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, staff at the Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry’s Kuala Lumpur office will have a space at their workplace to unleash their creativity.
Called the “Ideation Corner”, the space is a cosy, informal area where they can gather to brainstorm ideas.
It was launched by its deputy minister Datuk Henry Sum Agong yesterday.
He said the office setting “is very formal”, more so when the staff have to work during weekends.
“So instead of sitting at their desks, they can sit here,” he said, adding that the corner’s casual ambience would “encourage thinking out of the box”.
The Ideation Corner was also in line with the National Blue Ocean Strategy, he added.
Later, Henry presented an undisclosed financial contribution to two charities, RC Deaf Missions and Sunteck Handicapped Welfare Home.
The funds were collected by the ministry’s Welfare and Sports Club in the Kuala Lumpur office.

RC Deaf Missions co-founder and director Mario Richard Peter thanked the contributors, saying that the money would be used for awareness programmes.
