KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s premier shopping mall, Suria KLCC usher in the joyous Deepavali celebration or better known as the Festival of Lights this year with the launch of “Lights of Joy” on 2 November 2018, inspired by the spiritual significance of Deepavali that reflects on our everyday life. The festival of light also signifies a time of inner illumination where Hindus believes there is one light that continues to shine in the chamber of everyone’s heart and illuminate the soul.
The Deepavali’s vibrant ambience can be felt with colorful decorations at the centre court of Suria KLCC. There are two 20-feet Kolam with peacock motives, each sits on the right and left sides of the stage, complementing the overall decoration at the centre court. The Hindus believe that peacock symbolizes unity and brings good fortune. In the Indian tradition, Kolam which are created using colored rice is also displayed as a sign of welcoming prosperity and blessings. The Kolam flaunt an intricate design, harmonized in various colors capturing the essence of unity and unify.

“Cik Gajah” is a life-sized baby elephant sculptures created by foremost art artist, Yusof Ismail or better known as Yusuf Gajah. There are 10 “Cik Gajah” created for the campaign and each has been adopted by donors from the private sector including Suria KLCC, who is also a venue host for the sculptures. The 10 “Cik Gajah” is currently being displayed at three strategic locations in Suria KLCC from 15 October until April 2019.
