Professional boxing: Shehran wants KO win against Indonesia opponent

PETALING JAYA, March 16 (Bernama) -- Rising boxing star, Muhammad Shehran wants an outright win by K.O when he faces Indonesia's Erick Subiyasno in a match for the World Boxing Council Silver Asia featherweight champion title in a Malaysian Professional Boxing Series at the Grand Ballroom, One City Mall, Subang Jaya tomorrow.

Professional boxer, Shehran, 22, is optimistic of his mission as he knows his opponent's weaknesses after their last fight in December last year.

According to him, his only goal was to win by K.O to redeem his loss to Erick via unanimous decision in Indonesia.

"I want to beat him by K.O as I felt had won in the last fight, as such I need a decisive win this time," he told a match media conference here today.

Meanwhile, Boxranx chief executive officer Raymond Lew who is organising series called on local boxing fans to come and cheer for the local hero.

Apart from the featherweight match, spectators will also be treated to match between world sixth ranked boxer, Quadratillo Abduqaxorov of Uzbekistan and Laszlo Toth of Hungary for the WBC World Welterweight champion title.

"This is the first time we managed to have this WBC World Silver Title fight. It is one of the most prestigious title in boxing and we are lucky enough to have the opportunity to witness this fight.

"Other than that, spectators who come also can give their support to our local fighter (Shehran). I am very confident he can with this match and definitely will make the Malaysian proud," he said.
