KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- The population
of the elderly who are 60 years old and above in Malaysia is increasing
gradually from standing about 7.9% in 2016, to an estimation of 15% in 2030.
With an aim to develop and enhance the policies and programmes for the elderly in Malaysia, the Department of Social Welfare (DSW) of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (MWFCD), has officially agreed to collaborate with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to jointly implement the project namely ‘Successful Ageing: Social Support System and Community Based Programmes in Malaysia’ for two years, i.e. from January 2016 until January 2018.
