HRINCAMPUS 2018 harnesses experience of hiring experts

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) – Hiring managers, educational institution representatives, student leaders and campus recruiters attended the annual HRINCAMPUS Conference 2018 at Sunway University today to discuss the challenges in hiring and retaining graduates, as well as changes in the workplace brought about by digitalisation.

“Our aim is to leverage on the strong academia-industry collaboration to harness the diverse experiences and expertise in order to find solutions to issues impacting the industry,” said HRINCAMPUS chief executive officer, Ben Ho, of the two-day gathering.

In a statement, Education Ministry higher education (private sector) deputy director-general, Dr Mohd Nor Azman Hassan, said: “As changes take place around us, we look forward to corporations designing a workplace where there is less hierarchy, more flexibility and is diverse in many ways.”

The presentations today were by Maxis young talent head, Anisha Sasheendran, who spoke on “Managing Young Talents – 10 Most Crucial Considerations” and AirAsia Group global talent acquisition head, Ashish Ashdhir with “Reinventing Recruitment with AirAsia”.

Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) talent director, Siti Norliza Mohd Sahar, chaired a forum titled “Making Degrees Relevant for the Future Workforce”.

Tomorrow will see the Career Development Centre Club Malaysia (CDCC) being launched. It consists of members from premier digital tech universities and preferred digital tech polytechnics, and aims is to share best practices among career development centres.
