KDU Penang commemorated the partnership with ACCA in a signing ceremony at its campus today. Signing the MOU for KDU Penang was its Vice-Chancellor Dr. Chong Beng Keok, while ACCA Malaysia was represented by its Country Head, Mr. Jeyasothy Palakrishnar.
The BA (Hons) in Accounting program offered at KDU Penang has been accredited the accelerated pathway to complete the ACCA qualification via the ACCA Accelerate program. KDU Penang students can now undertake the last five ACCA Professional Level papers with a maximum exemption of nine papers in the Fundamental Level whilst studying for their degree program. This will give KDU Penang students a head start to qualify as a chartered certified accountant.
Under the Accelerate program, eligible students will enjoy benefits such as reduced initial registration fee, free annual subscription fee for 2 years upon graduation, deferment of exemption fees up to 2 years upon graduation and many more. They will also have access to the global ACCA community to provide practical assistance with their studies and future career.
Speaking at the ceremony, Country Head of ACCA Malaysia, Mr. Jeyasothy said, “KDU is an educational institution with a long track record of producing competent graduates. It is this quality that ACCA is recognizing with the signing of today’s agreement. With both the KDU accounting degree and the ACCA qualification in hand, KDU graduates have the ability to become a valued strategic partner in the organizations they choose to work. ACCA Malaysia looks forward to working with KDU Penang to realize this vision.”
