Muamalat Bank Distributes RM40,000 Aid At Breaking-the-fast Event

KUALA LUMPUR, June 8 (Bernama) -- Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad today gave out contributions in the forms of items of need and raya money worth RM40,000 to 120 orphans, tahfiz students and homeless in the federal capital.

Its chief executive officer, Datuk Mohd Redza Shah Abdul Wahid said it was part of the corporate social responsibility programme of the bank which it implemented since six years ago via breaking-the-fast activities with the less fortunate and tahfiz school students.

He was met by reporters at a breaking-the-fast ceremony with the group organised by the bank at the Jamek Mosque here which was also attended by Muamalat Bank chairman Tan Sri Dr Mohd Munir Abdul Majid.

Mohd Redza said, other than the programme, the bank also co-operated with the Jamek Mosque management in the effort to help the homeless in the city.

"Since six years ago we have implemented numerous programmes to help the homeless. For example, we provide food for the homeless two days a week," he added.
